Community Elevators was founded by filmmakers Antonece Johnson and Tanieka Clarke in 2021 after discovering many links to systemic issues experienced by underrepresented minority women that left them vulnerable to Human-Trafficking. During filming of their award-winning documentary Taking Innocence Project, many survivors expressed childhood vulnerabilities such as poverty, hunger, and lack of exposure to what good families, and great careers looked like. Both women understood that the trauma experience could have also plagued their lives and they were no different, however, they were able to thrive and become successful women in both business and entreprenurialship. With a heart to provide exposure to women and girls, the pair set out to elevate the black community by giving exposure using thier trademarked program Community B.E.A.T.
Support our cause! Help end vulnerabilities that lead to Human Trafficking by supporting our programs that focus on improving the lives of women of Color by providing access and exposure.
Taking Innocence Project is a documentary series showcasing survivor stories around the dangers of Human Trafficking, also known as modern day slavery.
